We wouldn’t be in the technological world if we didn’t love it. We do. Some would even argue too much. That being said, we also recognize that the best technology in the world, if implemented improperly, will still result in frustration. Rule # 1 of iCan is: “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”. We’ve been helping businesses and individuals implement electronics into their life for over 10 years, and one thing we’ve noticed is that is not a cure all. That being said, if we see a fit that will help you advance, we won’t hesitate to offer it. Accomplishing your organizational goals is more important that what technology we use to help you get there.
The barrier to entry for most people to the tech world is very real. It has historically been so complicated that entire industries have developed around it. Hey, that’s us! We have built our business on what we call “expectation management”. In a nutshell, if an electronic device does what you think it should, no problem. If it doesn’t, then there’s a problem. We’ve learned the language and semantics that most of the design engineers use when they create this stuff, and what they mean in all the seemingly overly complex help articles. We offer that skill set to our clients, you. Our goal is to first understand you, then help you get the results you’re looking for if it’s possible. Think of us as your tech translators.
Setbacks caused by improperly implemented technology are detrimental to the organization, but also to the people who championed their implementation. The nagging thought of, “We’d have been better off doing nothing…” is debilitating. You might even miss out on something that will help you leap forward. We’ve been through those pathways. We’ve learned from experience, best practices, and peers. We’ve made our own mistakes (and fixed them every time) and we’ve walked into many other messes we didn’t make, because our clients needed us to fix those too. We don’t ever stop learning and changing. For many of the systems we recommend, we are our own client # 0. We’re here to pass that hard earned education on to you.
We partner with our clients in many, many ways. If you need help from a consulting perspective, we’re here. If you need help selecting, implementing, configuring, reconfiguring, and/or refining what you have, we do all that too. For us, it's more about learning you first, then finding the best way to use technology, what you have or what you need, to get you where you want to go. That’s what it’s about, and we can be as hands-off or hands-on as you need.
